At Lucas Heights Community School we are proud that our students can and do become high achievers. With challenging educational programs and the extensive range of curriculum options that we offer, our school has become a thriving centre for student learning. We provide academic opportunities which allow all students to achieve their personal best. Extension classes are formed in years 5-10, based on selective entry criteria, and these provide genuine opportunities for academic development.

At our school we value and promote performance and sport. Students of all ages are able to develop their musical talents through participation in our concert and rock bands. Lucas Heights Community School also has a variety of dance ensembles which have a proud history of performing at high profile events. In drama, students successfully perform and compete at regional and state level festivals and competitions.

Students at our school compete and achieve success in a range of team and individual sports. We are highly competitive in both the Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) and in a variety of Combined High Sports (CHS). Our students regularly represent our school across a range of sports at zone, regional, state and national level competitions with success.

The school has a proud tradition of excellence in public speaking and debating from kindergarten to Year 12. This tradition is founded on school based competitions and representative teams.

In developing individual talents the school uses its range of modern specialist facilities. These include an extensive computer network and specialist studios for dance, drama and music. Our school boasts state of the art facilities for science and technology based subjects. A support unit ensures that students with physical disabilities achieve their personal best through a range of curriculum options, including mainstream integration.
